How Individuals Can Help
 Thank you for your interest in volunteer opportunities. Please contact our volunteer coordinator, Eric Batalon at 356-8532 or ebatalon@lanakilapacific.org to learn more about any of the following ways to help. We will be happy to provide additional information or arrange a tour at your convenience.
o Deliver or package meals for seniors: Join our Lanakila Meals on Wheels and more! family and help reach seniors in need. Every volunteer hour provides another three meals for seniors.
o Help teach classes, lead activities and mentor participants: For example, volunteers in Lanakila TLC, Teaching & Learning Centers have helped with lesson planning and taught Spanish language and dance, geography and culture, journalism and other subjects. o Volunteer as a job club mentor: Speak to members of our Lanakila Workforce Resources’ job club, give mock interviews or tours of your workplace. The club is looking for individuals working in various businesses or retired to speak about work experiences. The purpose of the job club is to help coach and encourage individuals to achieve their employment goals. o Help provide administrative/office support: Help with administrative functions such as data entry, assisting with mailings and preparing for special events o Special events: Join us at an event and have some fun while supporting a worthwhile cause. Help by providing professional expertise, event planning, event staffing, food or information booths, or photography. o Search the Internet with GoodSearch, a new search engine that donates about a penny per search. Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Lanakila Rehabilitation Center as the charity you want to support. Just 500 of us searching four times a day will raise about $7,300 in a year without anyone spending a dime! o Write a letter to the editor urging increased support for senior meal programs o Call your legislator and urge them to increase support for senior services. o Call our Congressional delegation and urge them to support increased funding for the Older Americans Act.
