Lanakila U classes are modeled on a collegiate atmosphere. Participants graduate from various classes, ranging from cooking, art appreciation, political sciences, oceanography, journalism, and others. Classes focus around semester themes, which have included "the 1950s & 60s", Hawaiiana, and Its my choice. Semesters run for three months and students work with their coordinators and volunteer "Professors" to develop their own goals.
